I love Sakura. It is honestly my most favourite flower in the world, and seeing them out in full bloom, or even when they start to fall onto the pavement; it really makes me the happiest person in the world.
I first saw Sakura (cherry blossoms) in 2011, but the mood for Hanami, or viewing parties, was very subdued due to the 2011 Tohoku disaster. In 2012, I was lucky to be able to have the full Hanami experience. That includes, drinking beer (or champaign with my mum!) along the streets and viewing the beautiful surroundings.
Seriously, if you are going to visit Japan, please go during Sakura season, which can be during the months of March or April. :))
