Another sweets shop, or cafe, that I am fond of is Harbs.
Harbs (ハーブス) is more like a tearoom than a cafe, and it's speciality, cakes, are delicious. Even just looking at the cakes at the counter at the front of the store will make you uncontrollably drool in public.

Banana Cream Pie |
Since 1981, Harbs have been baking their cakes fresh and all the cakes are delivered to their shops daily. Harbs' concept is to produce the highest quality cakes to their customers, by strictly selecting ingredients, baking by hand and never freezing their cakes. The result is a cake that 'fills you heart with happiness.' - and it certainly does.
Harbs cakes can be bought by the slice or whole, and are quite large too (about 24cm). If you want to buy one whole, you better get in early - cakes sell fast.
Rie-chan and I would often go on dates to Harbs and order some tea and cake. There is almost always a queue out the front of the shop, they are that good. Harbs also has seasonal cakes and uses seasonal ingredients, such as chestnut and strawberry in Winter, and Sakura Cake during cherry blossom season.
Even the menu is cute at Harbs!! The menu features little drawings of all the available cakes, as well as what else the shop has to offer. Harbs is not only cakes, but makes a delicious lunch set as well.

Chocolate Custard Pie and Marron Tart |
My favorite cake would have to be the Marron (Chestnut) Tart, but there are other favorites such as Mille Crepes (their most popular cake), Banana Cream Pie (also very delicious) and classic Chocolate Cake.
There are lots of Harbs shops all over Kansai, Kanto and Tokai. I often went to their Shinjuku Lumine shop (B2F, Lumine Est Shinjuku 3-38-1, Shinjuku, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo), but their Kichijoji shop (B1F, Atre Kichijoji 1-1-24, Minami-cho, Kichijoji,Musashino-city, Tokyo) has got a nice charm. Check their website for details.
